I’ve worked on the gym floor for many years and I’ve noticed a cyclical pattern repeating every year: starting from the first week of January gyms are flooded with people who have a New Year's resolution.
And that would be great. BUT... Come midFebruary and most of them leave!
✨There is another way (that actually works): start BEFORE! Purchase a program, try out your nearest gym, book a session with a PT.
Here’s why this works: new years resolution feels MASSIVE! 🧠 Our brain tends to overcomplicate new things because it doesn’t yet have the mental pathways and it is scared, it lets uncertainty and fear override curiosity, and self-doubt often leads to all-or-nothing mentality kicking in as a self-defence mechanism.
Often leading to overtraining and wrongly chosen resistance that leads to minor and even major injuries, longer recovery times and wekened immune system.
